Choose how you connect.

MCP gives your assistant callable tools. A skill explains how to use them thoughtfully.

Connect with MCP

Add the server URL to a client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP.

https://alnaqawa.com/mcp
Configuration for compatible clients
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "al-naqawa": {
      "url": "https://alnaqawa.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Use this JSON where your client accepts an mcpServers configuration. Other clients provide a remote-connector URL field. Available connectors depend on your client.

Let your agent help you connect

Connect AL-Naqawa MCP at https://alnaqawa.com/mcp using Streamable HTTP. It is a public, read-only server with no API key. List its tools, search for my city and confirm its country and time zone before calculating prayer times. Show the calculation settings and warnings with results.

Add the prayer skill

A small, portable guide with a Python helper. It covers choosing a city, calculation settings, calendar dates and saving timetable files.

  1. Download and inspect the ZIP.
  2. Add the al-naqawa-prayer folder to your client’s skills directory.
  3. Ask for a task below. The helper uses Python’s standard library.

The skill includes instructions and a helper, rather than another AI model. It uses the same public MCP server.

A real tool call

Try it before you connect.

Convert 1 November 2026 to a calculated Hijri date using the live MCP server.

convert_calendar({
  direction: "gregorian-to-hijri",
  date: "2026-11-01",
  method: "islamic-umalqura"
})

From a question to something you can use.

Plan your month

Confirm your city → choose a method → calculate the dates → export a CSV for printing or an ICS for your calendar.

Plan across time zones

Find your destination → check its prayer times and Qibla → convert a specific moment to your home time zone.

A few things to know.

Are these the same calculations as the website?

Yes. Prayer times use our shared prayer_time_plus adapter. Calendars use the same Umm al-Qura or civil calculation as our calendar tools. Results include selected methods, local time zones and relevant warnings.

Are all cities available?

City records are being published in stages. Search returns records currently available in the live catalog. A missing record returns an explicit error; the server does not silently substitute a different city.

Can it set an alarm or contact my mosque?

No. These tools return calculations and files. Importing an ICS does not automatically create an alarm. Prayer clocks, the app, account syncing and personal reminders are not part of this release.

How should I use calendar and prayer dates?

Prayer times are calculated starts, not Iqamah or Jumuah schedules. Islamic dates are planning estimates and may differ from local moon-sighting announcements. Check your local community’s guidance.

What does the service store?

The MCP service does not create a profile or save tool inputs to a new database. Cloudflare processes requests and operational diagnostics. Your AI client has its own data policy. Read our privacy information.
