You can choose a city without location access

If your browser declines location access, use AL-Naqawa’s city search instead. Type the city name, wait for the suggestions and select the result that matches your intended country and location. You do not need to keep accepting a permission prompt to use this route.

If several places share a name, read the result carefully before selecting it. Manual selection chooses a timetable location; it does not change the physical location of your device.

Why the browser asks

MDN documents that the Geolocation API is available in secure contexts and asks for permission before reporting a user’s location. A browser or operating-system setting can therefore prevent a page from receiving coordinates.

AL-Naqawa’s location control uses that browser capability. If it is unavailable or rejected, the page offers city search as the alternative. The control is not a promise of precise indoor positioning.

Recover without repeatedly changing settings

Try the manual search first so you can complete the immediate task. Once the selected city appears, check the date, time zone and calculation settings before saving or printing anything.

  • Open the prayer-times search page.
  • Enter your city in Search for a city.
  • Select a matching suggestion rather than leaving only typed text.
  • Read the selected location and wait for its timetable.
  • Review the method and any saved adjustments.

If you prefer automatic location

Use the browser’s site-permission controls and, where relevant, the device’s location settings. The names of those controls vary by browser and system; do not follow a screenshot for a different device without checking its labels.

Return to the page and try Use my location only if you want to share device-location information for this task. If it still fails, continue with manual city selection. Avoid sharing a screenshot containing coordinates when a city name is enough to explain a timetable question.

This guide concerns the website. It does not require AL-Naqawa’s planned native App, change system permissions for you or install a background location service.
