How to Report a Prayer-Time Problem Clearly

Make the result reproducible

If a prayer time looks wrong, include enough detail for somebody else to open the same city and date with the same settings. “The time is incorrect” leaves several different problems mixed together: location, date, display format, calculation choices or a page that did not update.

Mozilla’s bug-writing guidance recommends clear reproduction steps and a separation between expected and actual results. That approach also helps when reporting a timetable discrepancy.

Collect the inputs before writing

Copy the page address and record the city, country, intended calendar date and the time zone shown. Then note the calculation method, Asr rule, high-latitude choice and any manual adjustments you changed. Include whether the display uses a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.

If you compare a mosque timetable, name its source and specify whether the number is a calculated prayer start, an Iqamah time or a Jumu’ah service. Different kinds of times should not be reported as if they are the same measurement.

Write expected and actual results separately

You can use this structure in a message through our Contact page. It is a suggested report format, not a requirement to reveal your private location.

• City and page URL: the selected city, not just the text typed in search.
• Date and displayed time zone: include the year.
• Steps: what you selected or changed, in order.
• Actual result: which prayer and what time appeared.
• Expected result: what you expected and the source for that expectation.
• Device/browser and whether the issue repeats after reopening the page.

Remove private details and send one clear report

Use a city or a general area unless precise coordinates are necessary to explain the issue. Do not include passwords, account tokens, other people’s contact details or unredacted screenshots of private messages.

Read your report once before sending it. If the calculation settings are unknown, say so rather than guessing. We cannot promise an immediate fix or agreement with every external timetable, but a clear record makes the discrepancy easier to investigate.
